When I looked at the sunrise that inspired me to paint this, I noticed the sky was decidedly purple. It was a color I wasn’t used to seeing during a sunrise, and maybe that just means I don’t watch sunrises enough. I thought how I often use colors like purple in the sky to display a different planet or someplace supernatural, but was reminded everything we need to inspire us exists right here on Earth. I hope everyone has a good holiday season, and I’ll be back with another comic or painting soon.
